Here's a better question: if you were sent to a dessert island, would you prefer a Mac or a Windows box? I bet all Mac users and at least some, if not many, Windows users would pick Mac. The vast majority of Windows users DO NOT GET TO PICK their platforms! They are mandated by IT.
"as applications get ported to the web this is a long-term threat to Apple"
This is a bigger threat to Windows since the primary benefit of Windows has been the prevalence of Windows-only applications.
This post is far too lame to reply to, but what the heck.
A TRS-80 with a 2400 baud connection and text-only web browser would be preferable to a top-of-the-line Dell with Windows Vista but no net connection.
The question is stupid, the answer stupider and the questioner the stupidest.
Of course Apple should *not* have waited until it had the Windows version ready! That's the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile. First, does anyone even know if the labels would have allowed such? Second, the Windows version is not going to be trivial given that Apple owns neither the OS nor most of the MP3 players. But most importantly, it's critical for Apple to continue making the case that Mac owners are somehow advantaged.
